Gbemi Ibrahim is a seasoned HR expert with over 15 years of experience in sectors like financial services, telecommunications, development, and consulting. Her deep knowledge of the HR value chain establishes her as a strategic, global HR specialist. Additionally, Gbemi is skilled in project and product management, adept in Agile Methods, Scrum Practices, Design Thinking, and Strategic Communications.
Her diverse background is evident in her exceptional business and executive communication skills. Gbemi has been a sought-after ghostwriter and editor, managing editorial teams and producing high-quality content. She has been the Rapporteur General for high-profile events like the Nigerian Economic Summit (NES), Kaduna Investment Summit, Nasarawa Investment Summit, Edo State Alaghodaro Summit, Sterling Bank Agricultural Summit Africa, Africa Social Impact Summit among others.
Gbemi has held significant HR Generalist roles at Kakawa Discount House Limited, FBNQuest Merchant Bank, and MainOne, an Equinix Company. She has facilitated training sessions in HRM, critical thinking, leadership, and performance management, collaborating with organizations like Workforce Group, the United Nations Global Compact/Jobberman and BROOT Consulting. Her e-learning expertise is demonstrated in deploying Learning Management Systems for the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), offering courses in various professional skills.
She was the pioneer Project Manager and pioneer Acting Registrar at Hillside University of Science and Technology, Ekiti State, Nigeria. She is currently the Director of People Practice & Projects at BROOT Consulting and she also serves as the Editorial Anchor and Head of Workforce Management and Academy at NESG.
Academically, Gbemi has a degree in English Language from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria and a Master’s in English Literature from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, with additional qualifications in English Language Teaching and an ongoing MBA in Entrepreneurship & Innovation at the International University for the Applied Sciences, Berlin, Germany. She also holds an executive diploma in Design Thinking, Innovation, and Strategy from institutions like MIT, Columbia Business School and Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth.
In leadership, Gbemi is the Vice-President for Membership and Volunteering at PMI, Nigeria Chapter, and she is affiliated with the Design Society, Design Management Institute and Design Thinkers Academy. A proud alumnus of Lagos Business School (LBS), School of Media and Communications (SMC) and Enterprise Development Centre (EDC), she holds PMP and GPHR certifications and she is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (MCIPM).
